At the end of 2015, Congress enacted a new partnership tax audit regime that will replace the TEFRA rules. Many tax professionals are highly critical of these changes. Thankfully, the new rules will not be effective until 2018. This seminar will provide an overview of the new rules, explain the problem areas and review steps that can be taken today to head off these issues. The effective date of these new rules – January 1, 2018 – is fast approaching. Recently, the IRS released a 200 page plus set of proposed regulations to address issues under this new audit regime. The seminar will provide an overview of the new regulations, explain problem areas and review planning steps that can be taken today to head off these issues.
